This pair of hand-painted wooden relief icons combines two important traditional Christian images: the Mother of God with the Christ Child and Jesus Christ Pantocrator.

The first icon depicts the Mother of God holding the Child Jesus. The second portrays Jesus Christ with His right hand raised in blessing and an open Gospel book held in His left hand.

Both icons feature a striking three-dimensional wooden relief. The faces, garments, halos, inscriptions and decorative details are individually painted and finished by hand. As a result of this traditional hand-painted finish, every icon is a unique original.

Light surfaces, golden details and dark brown elements create an attractive contrast that emphasises the depth of the relief and the fine details of the sacred figures.
